Cnoc an Línsigh

Summerhill occupies the site of the ancestral seat of the Norman-Irish Lynch family (Ó Loingsigh), whose Irish name for the place, Cnoc an Línsigh (Hill of the Lynch), persisted in anglicised forms as 'The Knock' or 'Lynchs Knock' until circa 1667.
