Ráth Eanaigh

Raheny's name derives from Ráth Eanaigh, a ring-fort and marsh settlement documented as early as 570 AD. The area formed part of the ancient district of Rechen, which was granted to the Church of the Holy Trinity by Anlave, King of Dublin, in 1040.
