Cill Iníon Léinín

Killiney takes its name from the Irish Cill Iníon Léinín, "Church of the Daughters of Léinín," commemorating a monastic settlement founded in the sixth or seventh century by Léinín, a local chieftain converted to Christianity, and his daughters.
