Faing

Foynes (Irish: Faing) is a town and major port on the southern shore of the Shannon Estuary in County Limerick. The name originally referred to Foynes Island (Oileán Fainge) before being applied to the modern settlement. Foynes lies within the Civil Parish of Robertstown and the Barony of Shanid.
