Iascaigh

The name says it plainly: Iascaigh, from iasc (fish), means a place abounding in fish. It was the River Easky that earned the description. Rising in Lough Easkey in the Ox Mountains, the river runs roughly twelve miles northward through bogland and rough pasture before emptying into the Atlantic at the village.
