An Bóthar Buí

An Bothar Bui, 'the yellow road', derives from the Irish bothar (road) and bui (yellow). The naming has several proposed explanations: the yellow mud that surfaced on the road after rain, the abundance of yellow gorse or furze growing along it, or a possible association with a pagan figure known locally as Baoi.
