Cill Mhic Réanáin

Kilmacrennan derives its name from the Irish Cill Mhic Réanáin, meaning "church of the sons of Éanán," referring to the four sons of Éanán, brother-in-law of St. Colmcille, who inherited and managed a Columban monastery at this site.
