Dough Castle

Dough Castle was established in 1306 by the O'Connor clan, Lords of Corcomroe, as a strategic stronghold controlling land and sea traffic at the mouth of the River Inagh. Originally constructed as a substantial tower house, the castle measured approximately 13.5 by 9.8 metres and rose through six storeys.
