Killymoon Castle

Killymoon Castle originated in 1671, erected by James Stewart as the centre of a substantial estate granted to his family during the Plantation of Ulster. Stewart acquired the land lease from Alan Cooke, the founder of nearby Cookstown, establishing Killymoon as a significant Anglo-Irish residential seat in County Tyrone.
