Gallen Abbey

Gallen Abbey was established in AD 492 by Saint Canoc, son of Saint Brecan, near present-day Ferbane in the territory of Delbhna Eathra. The monastery flourished as an early Christian settlement and center of religious learning for nearly three centuries before experiencing significant disruption.
