Dunhill Castle stands on a prominent rock overlooking the River Anne in County Waterford, built circa 1200 by Sir Robert La Poer (Power), a Norman knight who arrived with Henry II's invasion force in 1171. The Power family landed near Passage East and by approximately 1177 had been granted control of much of East Waterford by the Crown, establishing Dunhill as their principal seat for centuries...
