Delvin Castle

Delvin castle was originally an Anglo-Norman motte and bailey castle that has been remodelled over the centuries. It is accepted that Lord of Meath, Hugh de Lacy, had the castle built in the late 12th century for his brother Sir Gilbert de Nugent.
